### Lesson Structure:
#### Introduction (10 minutes)

2. **Objectives Overview**: Briefly outline what will be learned and achieved by the end of the lesson.
#### Part 1: Research Papers (30 minutes)
1. **Discussion (10 minutes)**:
- Define a research paper.
- Explain the purpose and importance of research papers.
- Break down the key components: Title, Abstract, Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References.
2. **Sample Analysis (10 minutes)**:
- Provide copies of a sample research paper.
- In pairs, have students identify the different sections and discuss the purpose of each.
3. **Creating an Outline (10 minutes)**:
- Guide students through the process of creating an outline.
- Breakdown an example topic and collaboratively draft an outline on the whiteboard.
- Have students select a topic (from a provided list or their own) and start drafting an outline.
#### Part 2: Creative Writing (30 minutes)
1. **Introduction to Creative Writing (10 minutes)**:
- Define creative writing and its genres (short stories, poetry, plays, etc.).
- Discuss the key elements: character, setting, plot, conflict, resolution.
2. **Technique Exploration (10 minutes)**:
- Provide a handout with creative writing techniques (e.g., show vs. tell, dialog creation, imagery).
- Read through and discuss examples.
3. **Writing Prompt Activity (10 minutes)**:
- Present a creative writing prompt (e.g., "Write a short story beginning with the line 'It was a dark and stormy night...").
- Give students time to begin their stories.
#### Conclusion (20 minutes)
1. **Peer Sharing (10 minutes)**:
- Have students pair up and share their creative writing piece with a peer, providing constructive feedback.
